Who do I think I am? What gives me the right or the audacity to assume that I can (or should) tackle the topic of “truth” from an authoritative (and unintentional, albeit autocratic-sounding) posture?
If you have come to this read with those (or similar) probes pressing up against your civilities, I don’t blame you. In fact, I applaud you. For you see, it is not the “discussion of truth” that ails our culture, as much as it is our collective and cancerous apathy, or “denial of Truth” that is killing us.
To that end, or should I say, in hopes to avoid that end, I have here embraced and engaged God’s call to serve Him (and you) as a “minister of reconciliation” and “an ambassador of Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:17-21) – both of which are anchored in, and hopeless without, God’s untainted Truth.
As the church-planting missionary, turned Lead Pastor of THE BRIDGE (www.HISbridge.com), I come to you mirroring the message of Paul to Timothy, his protégée and beloved son in the faith. For you see, like Timothy, the young servant-leader of the church in Ephesus, (and recipient of Paul’s letter that we know as the New Testament Book of 2 Timothy), most ministry leaders today, be they in Mayberry or Manhattan, are living/serving in an Ephesus-like, “sin-city.” Consequently, my aim is to help you champion Christ without compromise, to tear down any spirit of timidity as you tout His Truth, and to ultimately clarify Christ’s command to “go make disciples” by finding the lost and growing the found (a.k.a. “equipping the saints… “ Ephesians 4:12) to “obey everything that Christ commanded” (Matthew 28:18-20)… No matter what!
With that said, I invite you to return often as I do my humble and battle-ready best to build this blog on the timeless tactics and truths of 2 Timothy 2:2; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; and John 14:6:
